Event Detail Information: Erin Gruwell has been credited with giving her students a “second chance”. Gruwell is a collaborative writer of the bestselling book, The Freedom Writers Diary: How A Teacher And 150 Teens Used Writing To Change Themselves And The World Around Them, which became a feature film starring Academy Award winner Hilary Swank. The Junior League of North Harris and South Montgomery Counties, Inc. is pleased to have Erin Gruwell share her classroom wisdom with the community on Saturday, February 20, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at The Woodlands Church, One Fellowship Lane, The Woodlands.
This educational and entertaining community event is open to all. Educators will receive two Continuing Education credits for their participation in this exciting seminar. Tickets are $10 and are available at www.jlnhsmc.org. Educators in Conroe, Klein, Magnolia, Montgomery, Spring, Tomball and Willis may register at no charge on their district website.
