For the past 17 years the best on the PGA Tour tested their skills on the renowned Tournament Players Course at The Woodlands Resort. This year a new tradition begins at the TPC at The Woodlands Resort. The TPC Texas Legends Tournament is an event that, for the first time ever, lets amateurs play this famed course in peak tournament condition. The Texas Legends Tournament will run April 26th and 27th.

"Now, instead of Hal Sutton, David Duval, Vijay Singh and Phil Mickelson, amateurs from around Texas will get their chance to play the TPC with the course set to PGA standards," said The Woodlands Director of Golf, Bill Munguia. “We’ll have fast greens, tournament rough and Saturday/Sunday pin positions. It will be great fun.”

The course will be set up using the same pin placements used on Saturday and Sunday of the PGA Tour event. The greens will be rolling at 11.5 on the stimpmeter and the rough will be at the same height it normally is for the tour, 3”-5”. All play will be from the championship tees, all the way back, just like the tour. The TPC is overseeded and will be in perfect condition for this unique event. "This tournament will have the feel of a real tour event," says Munguia.

Upon arrival at the TPC players will be greeted by service attendants dressed in PGA tour caddy bibs. Players will be issued personalized lockers for the event with their names on the door. Players will have their practice warm up on the practice range in a personalized reserved station. Representatives of major manufacturers will be on site conducting their traditional club and ball counts. There will also be a bonus pool paid to those players who qualify using those manufacturers equipment.
