MARKET STREET ANNOUNCES SPRING LINE UP OF PERFORMERS FOR
THE JAZZ CONCERT SERIES

The jazz concert series is back at Market Street this spring every Thursday night from 6:30 – 9:30 pm April 26 through May 31 in Central Park. 

Visitors to Market Street won’t want to miss the popular Jazz Beat at Market Street series.  Bring a blanket or lawn chair for a free concert performed by renowned musicians in a beautiful outdoor setting.
Scheduled performers include:

April 26 - Althea Rene

Althea began her career early on as a classical flautist.  Today she is regarded among musicians and enthusiasts as one if the nations best improvisational flautists.   

May 3 - Maria Williams         
Maria Williams has performed as a professional singer and bandleader for the past fifteen years. The band of highly experienced professional musicians will play music with a Latin flair. 

May 10 - Road Crew
This seven-member band hails from Dallas and specializes in Motown and groovin’ 70’s dance hits. 

May 17 - Max Cat
This versatile musician hails from Panama and his repertoire includes rock, country, R&B, Latin Jazz and Classical.

May 24 - Mark Towns
Mark Towns plays jazz with a Latin flair with well-crafted blends of salsa, merengue and various other rhythms.
 
May 31 - Ken Mondshine
Ken has been named one of the finest saxophone players in Houston.

Located across from The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, Market Street is bounded by Lake Woodlands Drive, Lake Robbins Drive, Grogan’s Mill Road and Six Pines Drive.
