EASTERLING DEVELOPMENT COMPANY
PURCHASES SITE FOR EXPANSION OF
THE PLANTATION APARTMENTS

 

THE WOODLANDS, TX – (July 21, 2008) – Easterling Development Company has purchased a 5.8-acre site on College Park Drive (State Highway 242) for construction of phase two of The Plantation Apartments at The Woodlands, according to Greg Jordan, director of commercial land sales for The Woodlands Development Company.

The first phase of the gated neighborhood, located at the northwest corner of Windsor Hills Drive and College Park Drive, is comprised of 312 luxury apartments with a range of amenities including a clubhouse with swimming pool and built-in grilling area, fitness center, basketball court, children’s playscape, computer room, movie screening room and community meeting room. The second phase will consist of 120 apartments adjacent to phase one with a second swimming pool. Floorplans and rental rates will be similar to those for phase one of the development.

One-, two- and three-bedroom apartment homes with up to two-and-a-half baths will be featured in the three-story expansion. Apartment sizes will range from 800-1,400 square feet. Covered parking and enclosed garages will be offered as an option. The low density of 21 units per acre will allow for ample landscaping on both the perimeter and interior of the heavily forested site. Steinberg Design Collaborative is the architect for the project. Construction is expected to begin in mid-August with completion planned for late summer of 2009.

The Plantation Apartments is the third apartment neighborhood to be developed by Easterling Development in The Woodlands. The first is Whispering Pines Ranch in the Village of Alden Bridge, and the second is Pine Creek Ranch located directly across Windsor Hills Drive from The Plantation Apartments.
