WHAT: Conroe Independent School District (CISD) announces the dedication of its newest campus in the district, Tom Cox, Sr. Intermediate School in Spring.
Cox and his family, friends and the CISD community will be in attendance at the celebration of the new facility.
WHO: Tom Cox, Sr. is a recognized community leader and has been a custom homebuilder in The Woodlands for over 20 years. Cox is an active member of The Rotary Club, The Woodlands Lions Club and Friends of Tamina. He has served on such organizations as Interfaith of The Woodlands, YMCA, The Friends of the Library as well as many other organizations. Cox was named an original Hometown Hero in 1999 as part of The Woodlands 25th Anniversary Celebration. The CISD Board of Trustees voted to name a school in Cox’s honor for his numerous contributions.
Tom’s daughter, Melissa Flanigan, is a teacher at the new school and her children, Cox’s grandchildren, Maggie (5th grade) and Jack (6th grade) attend the school. Cox and his wife, Marion, have 22 grandchildren.

From Houston: Take I-45 north to the Rayford-Sawdust exit, number 73. Turn east on Rayford Road and travel approximately three miles to the intersection of Rayford Road and Fox Run Boulevard. Continue straight on Fox Run Boulevard for approximately .6 mile. At the intersection of Fox Run Boulevard and Riley-Fuzzel Road, continue straight onto Discovery Creek Boulevard for .6 mile. Turn right on Rayford Road for .1 mile and then turn left on Waterbend Cove. The school is approximately .1 mile on the left.
