DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

 

THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PARTNERSHIP PROMOTES HOLLY MONTGOMERY TO DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONSTHE WOODLANDS, TX – (October 2009) – The South Montgomery County Woodlands Economic Development Partnership (EDP) promotes Executive Assistant Holly Montgomery to the newly created position of Director of Operations effective September 18, 2009.

According to Gil Staley, Chief Executive Officer, EDP is taking a new approach to its organizational structure due to the changing landscape of the business environment in our community. Staley created this position because Holly has been with EDP for over ten years and her extensive knowledge of the inner workings of the organization is invaluable. Gil Staley said, “We are fortunate to have someone with Holly’s skills to handle the responsibilities for the day to day operations of the organization, as well as oversee the administrative needs for the EDP.”

Staley goes on to say, “We need someone who can handle our organizational needs so I can devote my time to our business recruitment and retention programs, as well as maintain our governmental and community relationships.”

“I am excited about my new position and the challenges it brings. The EDP has been a wonderful organization to work for over the past ten years; and I am looking forward to helping it continue to succeed through my new role,” said Montgomery.

The South Montgomery County Woodlands Economic Development Partnership was formed as a division of the Chamber 10 years ago. They have been responsible for making sure that we retain major employers in South County and help them grow and prosper. In addition, the organization is responsible for business recruitment. The EDP is the local resource for companies to access available incentives from the State, county and local governments.

The South Montgomery County Woodlands Economic Development Partnership (EDP) is the lead agency for business recruitment and retention for the South Montgomery area and includes the cities of Shenandoah and Oak Ridge North as well as the master planned community, The Woodlands. The primary target for EDP clients are employers or potential employers that might want assistance in identifying potential sites for locating their business, or to determine their qualifications for incentives that might be available. The EDP also active in tracking workforce by industry cluster and also in helping The WorkSource and the Lone Star College System identify training needs within the clusters that is prevalent in the area.
