The Woodlands, TX (Tuesday, November 10, 2009) The season for giving is upon us, and Interfaith of The Woodlands needs the community’s help adopting families and seniors for the holiday season.
Each year, Interfaith of The Woodlands hosts its annual Adopt-A-Family program where individuals, families, corporations, organizations, civic groups and member congregations adopt a qualified family within Interfaith’s service area and supply specific gifts to help make the holiday special and seek to ease some of the stress of the season. Through the Gifts for Seniors, groups adopt a community senior who is in need or alone for the holiday and provide specific gifts. Both programs make a tremendous difference in the lives of community neighbors in need.
According to Kathy Rifaat, Director of Programs and Services at Interfaith of The Woodlands, “This year we have seen many, many more families and seniors coming to Interfaith for assistance, and our holiday assistance programs are no exception. More than 350 families and 400 seniors are in need of adoption.”
Anyone interested in adopting a family or volunteering during the holidays, please call Lindsey at 832-615-8231. For individuals interested in purchasing gifts for seniors, please call Debbie at 832-615-8204. All gift donations can be dropped off at Interfaith of The Woodlands. The generous donations are needed by December 4, 2009.
Interfaith is also accepting toy donations for the Interfaith Holiday Toy Drive, in addition to Interfaith’s Adopt-A-Family and Adopt-A-Seniors programs. Toys may be dropped off at Interfaith through December.
