THE WOODLANDS, TX (August 20, 2009) – A Montgomery County charity is out to prove that golf and shopping can in fact go together.
Connecting Families of Montgomery County, which works to prevent child abuse and neglect in the area, will host its “Shop ‘Til You Drop Charity Shopping Tournament” at Market Street – The Woodlands on Saturday, September 26.
Here’s how the shopping tournament will work. Supporters are encouraged to gather a team of one to four players, complete with a team name, and report to Market Street for check-in and registration at 10:30 am. The required entry fee is a $50 tax-deductible donation to Connecting Families.
After a brief introduction, shoppers will receive a list of participating Market Street stores offering an exclusive, 15-percent discount to players during the tournament. Teams will have from noon until 3 pm to “play the course,” visiting any and all Market Street stores. Like golf, the more a team spends, the lower its score. Best of all, the team with the lowest score at the end of the tournament will win terrific prizes. The revelry will wrap up with a 19th hole Par-Tee.
Sponsorships for the Connecting Families “Shop ‘Til You Drop Charity Shopping Tournament” are still available. For more information, contact Diana at 936-441-4733 or by e-mail at diana@resourcesforparents.org.
Located across the street from The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, Market Street is bound by Lake Woodlands Drive, Lake Robbins Drive, Grogan’s Mill Road and Six Pines Drive. Market Street is owned by a joint venture between an affiliate of Trademark Property Company and Institutional Mall Investors. |
