John Grogan will be the featured author at The John Cooper School's 5th Annual Signatures Author Series luncheon on Wednesday, November 11 at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel.
Grogan, author of "Marley & Me: Life and Love with the World's Worst Dog," a #1 national bestseller that was made into a major motion picture, is a former Philadelphia Inquirer newspaper columnist and has also authored best-selling books "The Longest Trip Home," and "Life Is Like a Sailboat." Grogan's appearances have been described as warm, intelligent, funny and inspiring.
The luncheon will also feature local writers, book signings and a silent auction of an item signed by Grogan. Each year, a portion of the proceeds from the event is donated to a local organization. Last year's sellout luncheon, featuring Anthony Bourdain, resulted in a donation of $5,000 to the Montgomery County Memorial Library System. This year's beneficiary is Montgomery Pet Partners' READ Program that works with students by offering them a chance to read to therapy dogs to improve their reading skills.
The continued success of this event is made possible by sponsorships at varying levels, ranging from $75 for individual seats to table sponsorships at varying levels. For information contact Cooper's Development office at 281-367-0900 x441 or go to http://specialevents.johncooper.org. |
