 The Woodlands, Texas – The South Montgomery County YMCA has announced that people interested in participating in the 2009 GE Run Thru the Woods held on Thanksgiving Day in The Woodlands, can register at the 2008 prices, when they register online at www.runthruthewoods.org. The special price is available for online registrations only, now until September 30th. Fees will increase $5 beginning October 1st.
“We really want to encourage interested participants to register online,” said Roxanne Davis, YMCA North Group Marketing Director. “We have thousands of people register each year, which means there are thousands of paper registration forms that we go through. This year, we want to reduce our paper trail and be more green! So we are offering an incentive with online registration. It’s easy, cheaper, more accurate and will help us to be more Earth-friendly with registration.”
 The 20th Annual GE ‘Run Thru the Woods’ will be held Thanksgiving morning, November 26 at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands Town Center. Race times for the event are set with the 1 Mile Children’s Race for ages 12 and under beginning at 7:45 a.m., the 5 Mile Race at 8:15 a.m., the 3 Mile Teen Race for ages 12-17 at 8:20 a.m. and the 3 Mile Walk at 8:25 a.m.
The annual event has become a holiday tradition in South Montgomery County attracting more than 4200 participants and raising more than $100,000 for local charities.
