(March 27, 2009) – There’s a new way to explore The Woodlands: by kayak!

Discover the pleasures of kayaking at a special event introducing The Woodlands’ newest amenity, Riva Row Boat House, located within Riva Row Park. An open house will be held on Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., hosted by the Community Associations of The Woodlands, The Woodlands Development Company and Orvis. Take a kayak for a spin, learn tips during a kayak lesson, and enjoy music, refreshments and activities for the entire family along the beautiful waterway! Admission is free for the open house and activities.

Located in the heart of The Woodlands Town Center, Riva Row Park and Boat House are within walking distance to The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, Market Street, Town Green Park, and just a short trolley ride from any spot along The Woodlands Waterway®.

Once open, the Boat House will offer kayaks for use on The Woodlands Waterway® and Lake Woodlands. Single and tandem kayaks, along with paddles and lifejackets, are provided by Orvis and will be available to rent for $15 an hour and $5 for the second hour, or $35 for a full day, beginning April 26.
