THE WOODLANDS, TX – (Thursday, April 23, 2009) – Joel Deretchin (second from the right), vice president of public affairs for The Woodlands Development Company (TWDC) and Debra Staley (right), director of public affairs for TWDC, recently presented a $15,000 contribution to the South Montgomery County YMCA. Accepting the donation on behalf of the YMCA is Mark Cochran (center), center executive director; Gary Louie (second from the left), north group development director; and Roxanne Davis (left), north group marketing director.
The donation will help fund the Partners of Youth program which enables the YMCA to provide programs to children and families from all income levels.
“Through our Good Neighbors Community Partnership Program, The Woodlands Development Company is proud to support the many outstanding programs of the YMCA. We have been partners with the YMCA for over 25 years since before the first YMCA opened in 1986 in The Woodlands,” Staley said. “The Partners of Youth helps
support vital community programs including childcare, camping and youth sports.”
The YMCA has two current locations in The Woodlands—the Branch Crossing location and the Shadowbend site—with a third facility in development in the Village of Creekside Park. For more information about funding the programming at the YMCA, contact Gary Louie at 281-367-9622 or glouie@ymcahouston.org.
The Woodlands is a 28,000-acre master-planned community located 27 miles north of downtown Houston. It is a project of The Woodlands Development Company, a limited partnership of Morgan Stanley and General Growth Properties, Inc.
