INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL WRITERS TOUR THE WOODLANDS
The Woodlands CVB Hosts Writers from Brazil and Argentina

THE WOODLANDS, TX (March XX, 2009) – Several travel writers from South America visited The Woodlands as part of a five-day media tour of Texas, another sign of the media’s interest in The Woodlands as an international leisure and business destination.

“Two years ago we rarely saw guests from Latin America but the popularity of The Woodlands is growing as a result of positive media reporting,” says Julie Charros-Betancor, The Woodlands Resort’s sales manager for Mexico and Latin America. “It’s now quite common for us to host guests from Mexico and South America.”

Among those in attendance were travel and tourism editor Tania Bueno Muller and photojournalist Tales Azzi Fernandes who represent DCI, a Brazilian publication focusing on business and economic trends.

Also joining Muller and Fernandes from Brazil was Felipe de Oliveira e Cruz Niemeyer, a journalist from Panrotas, a leading tourism publication in South America.

Martin Wain and Pablo Andres Fernndez Blanco, both journalists from Argentina’s La Nacion and El Cronista, completed the group.

Personalized itineraries were created for each writer during their stay at The Woodlands Resort & Conference Center.

The agenda included meetings with both members of The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau and The Woodlands Chamber of Commerce, a trolley tour, and shopping at Market Street.

The writers also sampled cuisine from some of The Woodlands’ signature restaurants, including Perry’s Steakhouse, Americas, Tommy Bahama Tropical Café & Emporium and La Madeline at Market Street.

“Writers from Latin America continue to express interest in The Woodlands as a destination for visitors traveling to Texas,” says Nick Wolda, president of The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau.
