THE WOODLANDS, TX – (February 2, 2009) – The South Montgomery County Woodlands Economic Development Partnership (EDP) is pleased to announce that its Chief Operating Officer Gil Staley has been designated by the EDP Board to assume the position of Chief Executive Officer for the EDP effective August 31, 2009 upon the retirement of current EDP CEO Ron Bourbeau.
According to EDP Chairman Clyde Parker, the Board has taken this step for the purpose of succession planning to assure that the EDP is prepared to continue servicing the needs of the South Montgomery County area for years to come.
Chairman Parker noted, "The Economic Development Partnership has been ably managed over the past 10 years by CEO Ron Bourbeau, who will be retiring at the end of August. Gil's background and experience, including the past several years with the EDP, most recently as its Chief Operating Officer, have uniquely prepared him to assume the role of chief executive upon Ron's retirement. This action reflects the high regard in which Gil is held in the eyes of the Board and the Partners of the EDP."
