The Woodlands, TX – Golfers teed off for the Fifth Annual Swing for the Arts Golf Tournament at The Woodlands Country Club Palmer Course June 8. The Pavilion Partners, the official volunteer organization of The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, hosted the tournament with 124 players and raised approximately $22,000 in proceeds to benefit The Pavilion’s performing arts events and educational outreach programs. This year, players were able to enter one of two categories, The Performing Arts Challenge or the Pavilion Cup Challenge.
"We would like to thank our sponsors, players, staff and volunteers for the success of the Fifth Annual Swing for the Arts Golf Tournament. This year’s tournament could not have happened without their help. The money we were able to raise for the educational outreach programs at The Pavilion is fantastic,” said Nancy Watts, committee chairman.
The winner of The Pavilion Cup Challenge was Wing Aviation. The team received the title of “The Pavilion Cup” champion and holds the title for one year. The company name is displayed on “The Pavilion Cup” located at The Pavilion year-round. Additionally, the winning team received a smaller version of “The Pavilion Cup” for their company and was awarded a complimentary evening for up to 50 guests at one of The Pavilion’s performing arts events.
The Pavilion Cup Challenge second place team was Woodforest National Bank and the third place team was Infinity Restoration Group. These teams were awarded plaques.
Winner of the Performing Arts Challenge was Primal Energy. Second and third place teams were Schindler Elevator Corporation and Willie’s Grill and Icehouse. These teams were awarded trophies. Individual prizes included Putting and Chipping, Closest to the Pin and Longest Drive.
“This was the second year for The Pavilion Cup Challenge. The winning team, Wing Aviation, now has the title of best company team in the region. Partners looks forward to the growth of The Pavilion Cup Challenge and the continued success of the Swing for the Arts Golf Tournament,” said Watts.
