THE WOODLANDS, TX (June 29, 2009) – Thousands of spectators are expected to gather along The Woodlands Waterway® on Saturday, July 4, as the 12th Annual Red, Hot & Blue Festival and Fireworks Extravaganza, one of the region’s largest fireworks displays, lights up the night’s sky.
Presented by Woodforest National Bank, the 20-minute show begins at dusk (approximately 9:15 p.m.). For the best views of this year’s fireworks extravaganza, grab a lawn chair or blanket and head to one of these locations:
Waterway Square (one of the locations for the Red, Hot & Blue Festival)
North Side of The Woodlands Waterway
East of Waterway Avenue Bridge
Turning Basin by Town Green Park
Parking is available for $5 in the Town Center Parking Garage located on Six Pines Drive, the parking lot at the corner of Lake Robbins and Six Pines Drive, and 24 Waterway Parking Garage located on Lake Robbins Drive. Visitors may park for free at the orange, yellow and green lots along Timberloch Place. Trolleys will operate from 11 am to 8 pm on July 4.
Road closures for the festival include Timberloch Place between Woodloch Forest Drive and the I-45 South feeder road. This area will be shut down and barricaded on remains closed until given the all clear by a public safety officer on July 4.
Special water taxi pricing for July 4 includes an All-Day Pass for $5 and a Seniors/Youth/Disabled Pass for $2.50. Water taxis will not operate during the fireworks display on July 4 from 8:45 p.m. - 10 p.m., but will resume operation after the fireworks have completed.
