THE WOODLANDS, Texas. March 9, 2009 ~ Every Sunday in March, individuals can fine tune culinary skills during a free Technique Class at Williams-Sonoma in The Woodlands Mall. The classes, which begin at 12:00 noon and last for one hour, cover a variety of cooking basics.
In March, the one-hour classes, held from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. will focus on the following:
Sunday, March 15: Knife Skills 101. Knife class teaches the basics of knife skills, plus the differences between German and Asian knives, knife care and knife sharpening.
Sunday, March 22: Basics of Baking. Learn basic baking techniques including how to correctly prepare pans; the how-tos of folding, whisking, creaming and stirring; the stages of meringues; and more. Covers the basics of technique, foods and equipments that every home baker should know and master.
Sunday, March 29: Springtime Baking. Learn recipes and techniques for spring-baked treats, including classic pound cake and cupcakes.
