THE WOODLANDS, TX (May 14, 2009) – Torrie Wilson, The Woodlands’ favorite WWE diva and proprietor of the popular Market Street shopping spot, Jaded, will soon be traveling to Costa Rica to star in the hit NBC reality show "I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here".
“I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here” features a group of celebrities who are dropped in a remote jungle and face challenges designed to test their survival skills. As part of the show’s concept, votes from home viewers determine which celebrities will either be eliminated or go on to compete in challenges for a chance to win food, supplies and other luxury items
Wilson joins other fellow celebrities including Geraldo Rivera, Stephen Baldwin, Janice Dickinson, Sanjaya from American Idol, Dog the Bounty Hunter star Duane Chapman, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt and former NBA player John Salley.
"I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here" will debut as a two-hour television event on Monday, June 1 and will air every night, Monday through Thursday at 8 pm, with the finale on Thursday, June 24.
“I feel like I’m ready for anything at this time, but you know, you might want to talk to me again when I get out in the middle of the jungle,” says Wilson.
“This isn’t the first time a Market Street tenant has appeared on a national reality show. Chef Kent Rathbun of Jasper’s competed in the hit cable TV show “Iron Chef,” says Market Street Activities Coordinator Jenny Taylor. “We’re behind Torrie one hundred percent!”
A viewing party for Wilson and fans of the show is the planning stages and will be at a Market Street restaurant. Details will be posted on the Market Street website soon.
