The Woodlands, TX - The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau and Donoho’s Jewellers joined together for a Holiday Food Drive to benefit Interfaith of The Woodlands.
The food drive started on November 1, 2009 and ended January 18, 2010, and collected non-perishable food items including canned items, soup, pasta, snack foods, cooking helpers, protein items, condiments, desserts, cereal, personal care items, household items, and diapers.
The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau is pleased to announce that over 120 pounds of food were collected and over $300 dollars donated in cash.
“Donoho’s Jewellers is pleased with the results of the food drive and look forward to continuing this partnership with The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau and Interfaith of The Woodlands for next year’s Winter Wonderland,” said Richard van der Dys, Donoho’s Jewellers Store Director.
In December 2009 alone, 3,525 individuals were assisted with food from the Interfaith Food Pantry. In total last year, Interfaith had a 26% increase in the number of clients coming to Interfaith for assistance with food.
“Interfaith of The Woodlands greatly appreciates the ongoing support of The Woodlands Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and Donoho’s Jewellers,” says Dr. Ann Snyder, President and CEO of Interfaith. “Interfaith is grateful for the donation and looks forward to continuing the Holiday Food Drive tradition again next year.”
Donoho’s Jewellers has been a continuous sponsor of The Woodlands Winter Wonderland which features illuminated holiday scenes and storybook displays surrounding The Ice Rink at The Woodlands Town Center during the holiday season.
