THE VILLAGE OF CREEKSIDE PARK WELCOMES 1,000TH FAMILY

The Woodlands, TX - Shannon and Thomas Wright were welcomed as the 1,000th family in the Village of Creekside Park at The Woodlands 35th Annual Arbor Day Celebration on January 22 at Rob Fleming Park. The Wrights were officially recorded as the 1,000th new home purchaser when they closed on their home in mid-December, 2010.

The Wrights have settled into their new Trendmaker home in the neighborhood of Paloma Point, situated on 72-acre Lake Paloma in the Village of Creekside Park. As a token of appreciation, Tim Welbes, President of The Woodlands Development Company, developer of The Woodlands, presented the Wrights with a $1,000 weekend mini-vacation in The Woodlands Town Center. The package includes a one-night stay at the AVIA Hotel in Market Street; gift certificates to Crush Wine Lounge and Américas in The Woodlands Waterway Square District; movie vouchers for Cinemark theaters in The Woodlands; and gift certificates to The Woodlands Mall and Market Street.

Roxanne Davis, North Group Community Liaison for the South Montgomery County YMCA, presented the Wrights with a complimentary one-year family membership. The South Montgomery County YMCA has three branches in The Woodlands, including the new Outdoor Adventure Center at the Creekside YMCA in the Village of Creekside Park.

The Wrights also planted a large Burr Oak tree in the park to commemorate the occasion.

“In October of 2007, we celebrated the Grand Opening of the Village of Creekside Park right here in Fleming Park,” said Susan Vreeland-Wendt, Director of Marketing for TWDC, at the Arbor Day event. “Now, just a little over three years later, we are celebrating another milestone – welcoming our 1,000th family to the village. We are thrilled to have the Wrights put down roots in our ninth and newest village.”

The Wrights, who have lived in The Woodlands for 20 years, have grown children and are expecting their first grandchild in June. “We are looking forward to bringing our children and grandchild here to enjoy this wonderful park, the YMCA, Aquatic Center and all the amenities near our new home,” Shannon Wright said. “We plan to take a break from unpacking boxes to spend a fun-filled weekend shopping, dining and being entertained in Town Center. We truly enjoy living in The Woodlands.”
