A wide variety of performing artists have graced the stage at this annual event, now in its sixth year. Dancers, musicians, singers and performance artists are encouraged to share their talent with the community by applying to perform at the festival, set for Saturday, April 9 from 10 am – 7 pm and Sunday, April 10 from 10 am – 6 pm.
Those interested in applying should go to http://www.woodlandsartsfestival.com/performing.application.asp and complete the application. Peg Welbes, director of performing arts for The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival, will make the final selections and determine the performing arts schedule. There will be one stage this year, and performance opportunities are at a premium, so apply today. Applicants will be notified on or before March 9, 2011.
“We have had so many stellar performances during the past six years,” Welbes said. “From Indian dancers to Aqua Drums and the mellow sounds of a bluegrass band, the performing artists capture the unique flavor and cultural diversity of this spectacular celebration of the arts.”
