Research Hotel Partners, L.P., has purchased a 4.3-acre site at the intersection of Research Forest Drive and Grogan’s Mill Road for construction of a Hyatt Place® Hotel, according to Dan Leverett, vice president of commercial for The Woodlands Development Company. The hotel will be developed by New Horizons Hospitality.
The new hotel will include 150 guestrooms and suites along with 6,000 square feet of banquet and meeting space. Hyatt Place® hotels cater to business travelers as well as families, and are also well suited to serve small corporate meetings. Signature features include The Gallery, which offers a coffee and wine bar, plus TV den and e-room with free computer and printer access; a 24/7 guest kitchen with freshly prepared snacks and entrees; and daily complimentary continental breakfast.
Guest rooms feature contemporary décor with plush Hyatt Grand Bed (one king bed or two queen beds), state-of-the-art media and work center with 42” high-definition flat panel TV that easily integrates with laptops and other electronic devices; Cozy Corner oversized sofa-sleeper; and bathroom vanity with granite countertops. SportsNet, which includes NFL Sunday Pass and NBA League Pass, is available in all guestrooms. A Stay Fit® Fitness Center, equipped with Life Fitness® cardio and strength equipment is open 24 hours a day in Hyatt Place hotels. A pool will also be featured at The Woodlands location.
Construction is expected to begin later this year, with opening planned for mid-2013. New Horizons Hospitality also developed and owns the Hilton Garden Inn in The Woodlands Town Center, as well as several other hotels in Houston.
