The Woodlands Mall Hosts 10 hours of piano concerts on Saturday, April 29

THE WOODLANDS, Texas. April 6, 2006 ~ On Saturday, April 29 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., The Woodlands Mall will host Playathon, a free 10-hour piano concert featuring students in grades one through six. The goal is to have the young musicians play compositions on the piano continuously throughout the day.

Presented by the Conroe Music Teachers Association (CTMA), Playathon offers students the opportunity to perform and be seen in their own community. Additionally, visitors to The Woodlands Mall can share in the music and enjoy the work of the budding musicians and meet their teachers.

The CTMA is the local, nonprofit affiliate of the Music Teachers National Association and Texas Music Teachers Association. The teachers instruct their students in private piano, voice or instrumental lessons in private studios or public schools in The Woodlands area.

The Playathon will be held in Future Court, near JCPenneys. More than 100 children from The Woodlands, Conroe, Magnolia and surrounding areas are expected to participate.
