TOWN CENTER ANNOUNCES FORMATION OF THE WOODLANDS CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU

The Woodlands Convention and Visitors Bureau has announced a new organization to advertise, brand and promote The Woodlands Town Center as a regional destination for shopping, dining, entertainment and a place to conduct business.
A 501 (c)(6) organization, The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau, has been created by the Town Center Improvement District in The Woodlands and it has the same tax-exempt designation as chambers of commerce, business leagues and other similar organizations.
Recently appointed directors include Nelda Luce Blair as chairman; Peggy Hausman as vice chairman; Lloyd Matthews as secretary; Vicki Richmond as treasurer, in addition to Frank Robinson, TCID President; Fred Dominick, General Manager of The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center, and Karen Hoylman, President of the South Montgomery County Woodlands Chamber of Commerce. Nick Wolda, the vice president of marketing & public affairs for Town Center Improvement District, has been named president of the organization.
In addition to coordinating activities geared to promoting The Woodlands Town Center as a leisure destination for tourists, the bureau also will facilitate inquiries from meeting planners who are looking for a venue to host a meeting, convention or conference.
“The addition of The Woodlands Convention and Visitors Bureau will be an asset to The Woodlands and the attraction of the amenities found here,” said Wolda. “The CVB will further our goal of promoting the area as a premier regional destination.”
