“A Night at the Opera” will feature famous operatic choral works and solo “top pop” arias from opera’s greatest hits.  Baritone Shon Sims, Soprano Jana Ellsworth and Mezzo Soprano Cybele-Teresa Gouverneur will join the WSO as guest soloists.
Tickets are available at all Randalls Food Markets and at The Woodlands Homefinder Center at 2000 Woodlands Parkway.   The price is $15 for adults and $5 for children.

Prior to this concert, “Exhibition in Music”, an innovative collaborative program, featured the WSO, Conroe Independent School District (CISD) fine art students and the composition students from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University.  Original art and music were presented during the same performance.

“Exhibition in Music” was created by students listening to the music first and then creating the visual art for the performance, Chen said.  A total of 24 student art works depicted the music of the “Peer Gynt Suite” and were displayed during the concert.

Art teacher Cindy Moss from McCullough Junior High said she was honored to introduce the works of her talented art students and thanked Maestro Dagang Chen “…for inspiring the students and collaborating with CISD to give our students a memorable opportunity which, I am sure, they will remember all their lives.  In CISD, we work very hard on the core subjects, but if you think of an apple core, we not only have the core but the whole apple.”
