The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center
Saturday and Sunday, September 16-17, 2006
Best-selling author and entertainment expert Karen Bussen will be among the featured guest speakers at the Fourth
Annual Fall Home & Garden Show at The Woodlands on Saturday and Sunday, September 16-17.
An expert in food, wine, design and event planning, Bussen is a regular contributor to national magazines and hosts the daily "Home Made Easy!"
television program on the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Network. She is the author of "Simply Stunning Weddings" and is a nationally recognized
event and home entertaining specialist. Her innovative work on floral
arrangements has been featured on Martha Stewart's "30 Things Everyone
Should Know."
Focusing on home entertainment, with the upcoming holiday season in
mind, Bussen will present seminars covering exciting party ideas that
will keep guests delighted and hosts relaxed.
"The No-Cook Holiday Cocktail Party"
"Everyone wants to throw a great holiday party," said Bussen. "I will
explain how to make it happen with style and without spending days in a
hot kitchen." Her no-cook holiday cocktail party seminar shows how to
create festive, elegant celebrations with maximum style and minimum
effort.
"I will demonstrate two great, instant hors d'oeuvres that don't
require
cooking," said Bussen. "I'll also show how to add fabulous flourishes
to
store-bought and take-out foods that everyone will love!" She will even
whip up a "signature" holiday cocktail that is sure to please guests.
"Wine & Cheese - The Next Level"
The simplicity of a wine and cheese party is taken to a new level as
Bussen shares her secrets on matching specific wines to specialty
cheeses from around the world. "I am working with Spec's Liquor
Warehouse in making these elegant pairings available locally. This will
assure that Houstonians will be able to acquire these latest trends in
regional wines and cheeses." She will explain what a "flavor station"
is
and talk about other entertaining secrets that will make any party
unforgettable.
"I'm thrilled to return to The Woodlands," Bussen said of her upcoming
visit. Her appearance at the September show follows her January
appearance at the Dream Weddings Bridal Show. "The people are so warm
and have a great sense of style. I know you all love to entertain and
spend time with your family and friends - and, of course, great food!"
Spec's Wines, Spirits & Fine Foods will provide delicious treats and
samples for the first 100 attendees at each of Bussen's seminars.
