The Woodlands Development Company Supports
the YMCA Dragon Boat Team Challenge

The Woodlands Lovable mascot of The Woodlands, Puffy Pine Cone, and Debra Staley (left), director of public affairs for The Woodlands Development Company (TWDC), recently showed their support on behalf of TWDC with a presenting sponsorship for the 9th Annual South Montgomery County YMCA Dragon Boat Team Challenge.

Accepting the check on behalf of the South Montgomery County YMCA were Dione Booker (center), associate executive director, Gary Louie, north group development director, and the “Y” mascot.  Showing their enthusiasm for the event, Puffy Pine Cone and the “Y” mascot carry oars in their hands with Puffy also showing off the Dragon Boat Team Challenge logo.
Through its Good Neighbor Community Partnership Program, TWDC has contributed to the Dragon Boat Team Challenge since its inception nine years ago.

“Proceeds from The Dragon Boat Team Challenge help fund the many quality programs offered through the two regional facilities of the South Montgomery County YMCA,” Staley said.  “It is also a wonderful team building, community event.”
The Challenge is scheduled for Friday through Sunday, September 28-30, 2007 at Northshore Park in The Woodlands.  More than 90 teams are expected to participate.  The YMCAs in The Woodlands - located at 6145 Shadowbend Place in the Village of Cochran’s Crossing and 8100 Ashlane Way in the Village of Sterling Ridge - are committed to enriching family life and strengthening the quality of life for those in South Montgomery County, Staley noted.

For more information on the Dragon Boat Team Challenge, call Roxanne Davis at 281-367-9622 or e-mail rdavis@ymcahouston.org or visit www.southcounty-ymca.org.

The Woodlands is a 28,000-acre master-planned community located 27 miles north of downtown Houston.  It is a project of The Woodlands Development Company, a limited partnership of Morgan Stanley and General Growth Properties, Inc.
