The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion Hosts Another Sold-Out Weekend
The first weekend in August proved to be another top seller for The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. The jam-packed weekend featured Tom Petty Aug. 5 and Family Values Tour with Korn, Deftones, Stone Sour and more Aug. 6, bringing the number of sold-out concerts to seven for the season. The last four concerts at The Pavilion have been sold-out. Other sold-out concerts this year include Kenny Chesney, Buzzfest XVII, Rascal Flatts, Kelly Clarkson and Def Leppard and Journey.
“The 2006 concert season is one of the best in The Pavilion’s 17-year history, said Jerry MacDonald, president and CEO of The Pavilion. “We expect to have a few more sell outs before the end of the year."
The remaining concerts in August include KC’s Boogie Blast featuring KC & The Sunshine Band, Gloria Gaynor, Sister Sledge and Tavares Aug. 11; Dave Matthews Band Aug. 18; Reggae Sunsplash featuring UB40, Toots & The Maytals, Maxi Priest and Third World Aug. 26 and Godsmack and Rob Zombie Aug. 27.
