The Woodlands Mall Releases September Schedule For Weekend Entertainment Series

THE WOODLANDS, Texas. August 15, 2005 -- The Woodlands Mall concludes its free, summer-weekend entertainment series with a lineup of some of the city’s most sought-after performers. Take the Feeling With You performances will continue from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the retail and restaurant courtyard every Friday and Saturday evening through Saturday, October 1.

Events are held outdoors in the new retail and restaurant courtyard from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. In case of inclement weather, the performances will be held indoors in Future Court.

The September schedule includes:

INTERNATIONAL      
Friday, September 2 – The Churn – Irish Rock combines a range of Southern rock styles with Irish, Scottish and American traditional music.

Saturday, September 3 -- Jaime Casco & Toque Rojo is a tropical Latin jazz trio featuring Jamie Casco, one of the few performing artists in America who specializes in the unique sound of Roland Midi Brass Pedals.

HOT JAZZ      
Friday, September 9 – Cadillac Jazz plays hot Chicago blues that will spice up the weekend with original tunes and old favorites.

Saturday, September 10 – Bourbon Street, one of Houston’s most versatile bands, plays a mix of Zydeco, classic rock, R&B, Motown, blues and dance favorites. This is a favorite in The Woodlands and back by popular demand.

CLASSIC ROCK      
Friday, September 16 – Dreambreakers, the Houston Chronicle’s nominee for best cover band, entertains with the ultimate 60’s experience.
Saturday, September 17 – Tony Toboada and St. Dominic’s Review fuses Delta blue with a touch of country and gospel for a unique America music expeirence. It’s American rock and roll on the plaza.

MEDITERRANEAN      
Friday, September 23 – Moodafaruka, led by the inspired Rom Ryan, presents a magical experience with a fusion of global Mediterranean jazz. The band’s energy and creativity is infectious. Come early, as Moodafaruka has a large and devoted following.

Saturday, September 24 – The Gypsies offer high-energy Mediterranean and Eastern European tunes. The balalaikas will ring out the evening.

VIVA LAS VEGAS      
Friday, September 30 – American Rock Legends presents the sights and sounds of Elvis, The Blues Brothers, Roy Orbison and more.

Saturday, October 1 – The El Vibes present ‘Motown meets Memphis,” featuring Elvis and Supremes impersonators.

“’Take the Feeling With You’ has been more popular than we could have imagined,” said Wendy Ellis, senior marketing manager for The Woodlands Mall. “We have had music lovers of every age stop by at some time during the summer. It’s been so much fun and we are pleased to have been able to offer the series for the community. I hope that everyone will join us for our last concerts in September.”
