Feather Your Nest With The Latest Technology at The Fall Home& Garden Show at The Woodlands

Over 200 exhibits with newest trends in everything from carpet to countertops and lighting to landscaping

Attend gardening and interior decorating seminars

September 27-28, 2003

THE WOODLANDS - Staying at home is a lot more fun than it used to be. Take, for instance, Expo Design Center's Bath Showcase at the Fall Home  & Garden Show at The Woodlands, September 27-28. The whirlpool tub, housed in cabinetry that resembles fine furniture, is surrounded with a luxurious, lighted canopy, creating a serene sanctuary of opulence - the ultimate bath experience.

As people spend more time at home, they are creating living spaces that are more comfortable and personal. Over 200 exhibits offer products and services to help people customize their homes to fit today's hectic lifestyles.

The material world of Woodlands Fabrics & Interiors presents their Giant Wall of Window Treatments, a 40'x20' display of over 20 unique decorating ideas, and some lucky attendee will win a $100 gift certificate.

And these kitchens today - they're not just for cooking anymore, as Absolute Cabinets demonstrates. With cabinetry embellished with furniture features and several displays of island styles, these experts present today's Family Kitchen as a special space for entertaining and creating memories with friends and family.

Today's home is a concept of total living, and that includes entertainment. Stretch out in the plush seating in the Ultimate Home Theater designed by Vision Audio. But those who choose this route should be ready for a lot of guests who'll want to come over to ogle the massive 96" screen.

In the midst of all this luxury, golfers won't want to let their game go to pot. They'll just step outside to their own 600 sq. ft. putting green by Golf and Lawn Turfs and practice in the privacy and comfort of their own backyard. Serious swingers will want to register to win this $6500 prize.

And let's not forget the mote surrounding the castle. Thompson's Landscaping has an exhibit of two landscaping schemes: a relaxed old world style and a formal courtyard design.

Kathy Huber, Gardening Editor with the Houston Chronicle, offers seminars on Cool Season Color in the Garden and Bulbs for the Holidays. Interior Decorator Joni Porter, owner of House Sweet It Is!, demonstrates how to quickly and affordably transition a room from summer to fall.

Shopping is available at the show, with many items to choose from at the exhibits. Home Décor Store by Something Special Interiors will offer Christmas gifts, decorations, and other gift ideas.

Exhibitors present the latest in products and services, including: windows, doors, blinds, shutters, fabrics, landscaping, pools, kitchen cabinets, countertops, flooring, garden accessories, spas, decks, patio enclosures and furniture, faux finishing, remodeling contractors, water softeners/conditioning, fencing, gutters, designers, custom home builders, central vacuum systems, a/c heating contractors, glass block, shower/bath/tubs, landscape and interior lighting, radiant barrier, mosquito systems, decorative concrete, outdoor kitchens, and more.

What better place for a Home & Garden show than The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center, situated by a meandering river in a welcoming wooded retreat, with area shopping and restaurants close by at The Woodlands Mall.

Tickets: $8 for adults, $6 for seniors, no charge for children. Complimentary parking. Free admission to those who bring their new construction blueprints.

Some exhibitor spaces remain. Interested companies can contact Tony Wood at 713-728-3944 or twtexas@earthlink.net.

on Saturday and Sunday

Kathy Huber
Bulbs for the holidays and more!

Houston Gardeners have relied on the advice of Kathy Huber, the Gardening Editor for The Houston Chronicle, since 1988. She is the one they call when the begonias won't bloom, when the ferns fizzle, and when the petunias plummet. Huber will present seminars focusing on bulbs for the holidays and cool season color in the garden.

Joni Porter, IADA
Win a free one-day room makeover!

Porter, owner of House Sweet It Is! in The Woodlands, works closely with clients to help them discover their "unique style," taking their home "from familiar to fabulous!" Through her vast experience and as a member of the Interior Arrangement and Design Association, Porter is a well-respected member of the decorating industry. She will present seminars on seasonal updates and decorating tips based on affordable and creative ideas.
