Ken Smith Appointed to Board of Directors, TCID
THE WOODLANDS, Texas (August 29, 2005) - Ken Smith has been appointed to the Board of Directors, Town Center Improvement District (TCID) in The Woodlands, Texas.
Mr. Smith was appointed by the City of Shenandoah and unanimously voted on by the Board of Directors, TCID, to fill the seat vacated by David Vetter, who effectively resigned from the board at the July TCID Board Meeting. Vetter also recently resigned from the position of Mayor of Shenandoah to focus on family and his accounting business.
Mr. Smith has been a resident of Shenandoah for over 24 years. He owns Ken Smith & Associates, an insurance brokerage firm in Houston, and he was recognized by “Who’s Who International” for his work in that industry. He and his wife, Lori, have two grown sons and are active at Faith Community Church, where he is a Deacon and serves on the Benevolence Committee.
Mr. Smith is a very active member of his community. In 1989 he was elected to the Shenandoah City Council after serving on the Planning and Zoning Commission, and still sits on the council today and serves as Mayor Pro-Tem. He is also Chairman of the Christmas Decorations Committee for the City of Shenandoah.
“It’s quite an honor to serve at Town Center Improvement District,” Smith said. “We’re all interdependent on each other and I look forward to representing the City of Shenandoah as South Montgomery County and all of Montgomery County continues to grow.”
Town Center Improvement District is a public entity committed to maintaining The Woodlands Town Center and surrounding area, as the best possible place in which to live, work, shop, and invest.
