THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS - This year, the Fall Home & Garden Show at The Woodlands is bigger and more exciting than ever! More than 200 exhibitors are expected to pack The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center with the latest home construction, remodeling and decorating products and services.
The show kicks off Saturday, September 17 and continues through Sunday, September 18, with a dynamic lineup of experts and celebrities
presenting informative, high-energy seminars addressing today's hottest trends.
Michael Garfield, host of "The High-Tech Texan" show on TalkRadio 950 KPRC, talks about the next generation of "smart" homes. "In my seminar, I will talk about home automation, which is a really hot topic these days," said Garfield.
While most people know the basics, many are still afraid of the new technologies and don't understand how helpful they can be in everyday life. Garfield is known for his ability to address complex technology issues while speaking in terms easy enough for the non-tech person to
understand.
Randy Lemmon, host of "GardenLine" on TalkRadio 950 KPRC, is Houston's expert on lawns and gardens, offering insight and advice to listeners with "green thumbs" and those who are not so fortunate. This Houstonian truly knows plants and flowers and explains it with ease and candor. He explores new ideas as well as tried and true methods of dealing with
gardening problems.
In a first for the Fall Home & Garden Show at The Woodlands, TalkRadio 950 KPRC is broadcasting live from the show on Saturday, September 17th from 8am - 2pm. "We've been watching the progress of the shows in The Woodlands and
felt like the quality of the show was something that KRPC wanted to be involved in," said Robert Reese, with KPRC. "GardenLine" with Randy Lemmon will be on the air at the show from 8am - noon, followed by the High-Tech Texas, Michael Garfield.
Lee Snijders, host and designer of HGTV's popular "Design on a Dime" presents three seminars on Saturday. Snijders talks about how to make your space reflect your own personality and lifestyle by "breaking the rules of design." Stick around after the seminars for his autograph and personal design advice.
In a seminar sponsored by Wood-Mode Fine Custom Cabinetry, kitchen design expert, Peggy McGowen, ASID, CMKBD (Certified Master Kitchen & Bath Designer), presents "Top Ten Trends in Kitchen Design and The Top Five Mistakes."
McGowen, founder of Kitchen & Bath Concepts in Houston, has been featured in numerous publications, including Better Homes & Gardens, Woman's Day Kitchens & Baths, Kitchen & Bath Design News, and Houston House & Home.
McGowen reveals the top trends in kitchen design -- as well as the biggest mistakes people make when planning a kitchen. Small changes can
make a huge difference in making a kitchen more functional and more beautiful. McGowen shares her insight of what's on the horizon and what
really causes kitchen design trends.
Always a favorite at the show, Joni Porter presents "Decorating Secrets." The owner of "House Sweet It Is!" in The Woodlands, Porter
covers the basics of home decorating. She shares her display secrets, ideas for imaginative tablescapes and centerpieces, and decorating tips
from the trade to put the finishing touches on your home.
Brenda Beust Smith, Houston Chronicle "The Lazy Gardener" columnist, is anything but lazy! An active speaker and volunteer in the community, Smith has won numerous journalism awards, including two national awards for reporting and editing. She is a nationally published freelance writer, a nationally published professional photographer and has served on the boards of many area garden groups.
