NELDA BLAIR NAMED TO UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON BOARD OF REGENTS
THE WOODLANDS, TX (February 13, 2008)… Texas Governor Rick Perry recently named Nelda Luce Blair, Chairman of the Board of The Woodlands Township, to the University of Houston System Board of Regents.
Ms. Blair was among four new members sworn in at a meeting of the board on February 5, 2008. The 10-member board is the governing body of the UH System, including six teaching centers and the KUHT television and KUHF radio stations.
“It is a privilege and an honor to be named to this position,” said Ms. Blair who feels strongly about the importance of gaining national recognition for the UH System. “The University of Houston has so much to offer and it deserves to be recognized as a leader in higher education.”
Ms. Blair is an active member of The Woodlands community and is the president and owner of the Blair Law Firm, PC. In addition to serving as Chairman of the Board of The Woodlands Township, she has also served as Chairman of the Board of the South Montgomery County Woodlands Chamber of Commerce and of the State Bar District 3B Grievance Committee. She is well-known for her regular appearances as legal analyst for CNN, CBS News, MSNBC, Court TV and FOXNews. Ms. Blair holds a bachelor’s degree from Baylor University and earned a law degree from the University of Houston Law Center. She is triple board certified by the State Bar of Texas in Residential, Commercial, and Farm & Ranch Real Estate Law. Her term on the UH Board of Regents runs through August 31, 2013.
Also named to the UH Board of Regents were Jacob Monty, Carroll Robertson Ray, and Mica Mosbacher.
