THE WOODLANDS ART LEAGUE OPENS NEW GALLERY AT MARKET STREET

THE WOODLANDS, TX. (February 16, 2006)…The halls of Market Street’s North Commons soon will be transformed into a one-of-a-kind showcase of art.

Beginning March 1,The Woodlands Art League will present up to 50 different works on the second and third floors of the North Commons, located on the north side of Central Park. To access the North Commons from Central Park, enter the breezeway between Cru-A Wine Bar and Bazart. The North Commons entrance is on the left. The collection is available for viewing daily from 9:00am-6:30pm.

The art on display will feature works from a variety of artists using watercolor, oil, acrylic, photography, sculpture, pottery and mixed media. A new collection of art will be presented every two months.

To celebrate this showcase, Market Street will host a reception for the community on Thursday, March 23 from 5-7 pm in the North Commons space. The complimentary event also will celebrate The Woodlands Art League’s 25 th Anniversary.

The Woodlands Art League is a non-profit organization created to encourage and support its members and community in their pursuit of creative endeavor, education and appreciation by presenting opportunities and support available within the organization, its affiliates and community.
