Town Center Improvement District honors 13 individuals

THE WOODLANDS, Texas-(February 27, 2004 ) - Thirteen local individuals were honored for heroic efforts and their commitment to public safety at the 9th Annual Public Safety Appreciation Dinner Friday, February 27, 2004 at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center.

Sponsor by many businesses and individuals in The Woodlands and South Montgomery County, Town Center Improvement District (TCID) hosted the event, which celebrated the achievements of public safety individuals nominated by their peers and superiors for outstanding community service.

"TCID is proud of its efforts in public safety, and it's because of the dedication of the men and women who are committed to serving the public," said TCID President Frank W. Robinson. "Our public safety representatives deserve our recognition and appreciation, and tonight, the business community showed their support."

Award recipients include Cpl. Felicia Webb, Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Town Center District; Sgt. David Dottei, Montgomery County Sheriff's Department District II; Detective Terance Greenwood, Montgomery County Sheriff's Department Investigative Services Command; Deputy Shane Hatton, Precinct Three Constable's Office; Officer Mark Brockhoeft, Oak Ridge North Police Department; and Public Resource Officer Tammy Lewis, Shenandoah Police Department.

Also receiving awards were Cpl. Jerry Lesikar, Texas Department of Public Safety; Sgt. Dwight Johnson, Conroe ISD Police Department; Officer Gary Miller, North Harris Montgomery Community College Police Department; Lt. Doug Adams, The Woodlands Fire Department; Paramedic Ryan Mach, Montgomery County Hospital District; Trooper Maegon Gay, Alpha & Omega Royal Courtesy Mounted Patrol; and Officer David Bell, The Woodlands Mall Public Security.

The dinner was held at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center and was marked by keynote speaker Dr. Bobby Smith, a former Louisiana State Trooper and humorist. Each honoree received a special commemorative plaque which included their photo, badge and other memorabilia. In addition, restaurants and hotels contributed a "night on the town" package for each honoree.

Town Center Improvement District is a public entity committed to maintaining The Woodlands Town Center and surrounding area as the best place in which to live, shop, work and invest.
