The Ice Rink to remain open through Sunday, January 26, 2003
THE WOODLANDS, Texas (January 15, 2003) - In conjunction with Taste of the Town, The Ice Rink at The Woodlands Town Center has extended its skating season to remain open through Sunday, January 26, 2003.
The Ice Rink at The Woodlands Town Center is located on the southside of The Woodlands Mall outside of the Carousel entrance.
"We are offering one final weekend of skating in conjunction of Taste of the Town and a special show at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion," said Nick Wolda, vice president of marketing & public affairs for Town Center Improvement District.
Taste of the Town is scheduled for Thursday, January 23, 2003 at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center. The event will feature over 60 restaurants, caterers and other businesses in the new Town Center Exhibit Hall. A night later, Ezra Charles and The Works will perform in the Woodforest Party Tent at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion on Friday, January 24, 2003. Local group, The Waterway Boys, will open the show at 7 p.m. "This will be a great weekend in Town Center," Wolda said. "From Taste of the Town to ice skating to Ezra Charles." Measuring 60 feet by 132 feet, The Ice Rink is one of the largest seasonal outdoor skating rinks in the country. The price for admission is $6.50 for a two-hour skate session plus $1.50 for skate rental. The covered tent structure over The Ice Rink, which mimics the tent at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, contains a Winter Wonderland theme, giant television screens for videos, and a large Party Plaza. "The Ice Rink is a major attraction in The Woodlands Town Center during the Holiday season," said Wolda.
The Woodlands Town Center is home to more than 400 restaurants, stores, hotels and entertainment venues.
