The Woodlands Mall Presents August Schedule
For Free Weekend Entertainment Series


 THE WOODLANDS, Texas. July 11, 2005 – The Woodlands Mall’s Take the Feeling With You entertainment series continues with an August schedule packed with popular musical groups.

The free weekend entertainment series, which kicked-off in June, features two hours of entertainment every Friday and Saturday evening. Events are held outdoors in the new retail and restaurant courtyard from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. In case of inclement weather, the performances will be held indoors in Future Court.

In August, The Woodlands Mall presents:

Soul:            
Friday, August 5 Rick Marcel and The Radiance Band play a little bit of everything, Motown, R&B, funk, rock and roll and the good-old-fashioned blues.
Saturday, August 6SOOL Band presents songs about simpler times, with a focus on swing and soul. It’s music to feel good about. SOOL stands for Sounds Of Our Lives.

Oldies:            
Friday, August 12El-Vibes, a Houston-based variety dance and show band, covers classic rock and R&B of the 60s and 70s. Bonus fun: El-Vibes presents Supremes and Elvis shows.
Saturday, August 13Bourbon Street, one of Houston’s most versatile bands, plays a mix of Zydeco, classic rock, R&B, Motown, blues and dance favorites. This is a favorite in The Woodlands and back by popular demand.

Country/Country Rock:            
Friday, August 19 Route 66, a little band with a big sound, is a fun, hoppin’ band that plays classics from R&B, rock and Motown.
Saturday, August 20 – One of the few country strolling acts in greater Houston, Liz Talley & Three of a Kind provide a wide variety of country and western swing music. The band has a fiddle and two guitars, male and female vocalists.

Latin/Tropical:            
Friday, August 26Savea’s South Seas featuring Chief Savea, a 30-veteran in the music industry. Music includes popular tropical-influenced hits and ethnic log drumming from Savea’s native Samoa.
Saturday, August 27 -- Yelba, a Latin guitarist and singer, fuses Latin sounds with Afro-rhythms, jazz, country and rock. Her music includes salsa, merengue and cumbia.
