TOWN CENTER PART-TIME AMBASSADORS SHINE
AS OUTSTANDING LEADERS

1Providing visitors with directions, meeting community leaders, assisting at events and simply having a smile and a positive attitude are all in a days work for Town Center Part-Time Ambassadors Tony Rizzo and Brittany Kemper.

These two young adults from The Woodlands say they have enjoyed the time they have spent as Part-Time Ambassadors because it is a job that allows them to enjoy the outdoors, learn about community events, and lend a helping hand.

Lending a helping hand comes naturally to 2007 The Woodlands High School graduate Tony Rizzo, who as a high school student, created the “Challenger Football Camp” for physically and mentally disabled youth ages 5-20.

Tony spearheaded the project and set up drills and practice games with the help of 50 of his Highlander football teammates. The first camp in the fall of 2006 welcomed more than 40 participants. The “Challenger Football Camp” was so successful the booster club is planning to make it an annual event.

Tony plans to attend Notre Dame this fall and says he is looking forward to meeting new people and becoming involved in student organizations.

Another contributor to The Woodlands Town Center is Brittany Kemper, a 2006 graduate of The Woodlands High School, who is starting her sophomore year at SMU this fall.

Like Tony, this is Brittany’s third summer to work for the Town Center Ambassador program. She finds it interesting to be able to meet community leaders as part of her job, which is no surprise since Brittany’s involvement at SMU proves she is already an excellent leader.

Besides performing for her peers at SMU football and basketball games as a member of the SMU Pom Squad, Brittany participates in a student organization called L.E.A.D.

In addition to attending programs designed to develop leadership skills, L.E.A.D. members organize leadership workshops for high school
students. “Tony and Brittany are just two examples of the outstanding Part-Time Ambassadors who serve here in Town Center,” said Nick Wolda, vice
president of marketing and public affairs for Town Center Improvement District. “We are thrilled to have them both back again for their third summer.”

“The Town Center is privileged to have such outstanding young adults represent us,” said Marian Leck, security manager for the Town Center

Improvement District. “The benefit of young adults working with us goes both ways. We are able to offer them an opportunity to experience and learn from a working environment, government and customer service and Town Center gains a fresh perspective and the ability to provide the best in customer service to our residents, visitors and businesses.”
