A Little Horse Play in The Woodlands
The World’s Smallest Horse Will Stop in The Woodlands on Her 2007 Children’s Charity Tour
BGowan Companies, The Woodlands Brochure and Mailing Company and The Woodlands Market Street will be hosting a visit from Thumbelina “the world’s smallest horse” on Saturday, August 25 from 8 a.m. to noon. Her visit will benefit the Montgomery County Women’s Shelter and other children’s charities.
The visit in The Woodlands will be part of the Thumbelina 2007 Children’s Tour on a mission to raise $1 million for children’s charities. Her appearance on the morning of August 25 at the Central Park in Market Street is free to the public and will give children and adults all over the Houston area a chance to meet the tiny sensation.
At a height of only 17.5 inches tall and weighing 57 pounds, Thumbelina has been officially recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the World s Smallest Horse.
Thumbelina’s owners, Paul and Kay Goessling, raise miniature horses at Goose Creek Farms near St. Louis, Mo. Thumbelina is a miniature horse, which is also known as a “mini.” She is especially tiny because she is also a dwarf. That makes her a “mini mini.”
She is quickly becoming one of the most loved animals in the world appearing on shows such as The Today Show, Regis and Kelly, Fox and Friends, Good Morning America and many more.
In 2007 The Goessling Family began the Thumbelina Charitable Foundation. The Foundation is devoted to channeling the world’s affection for Thumbelina toward worthy children’s charities and the missions for which they strive. If anyone is right for the job it is Thumbelina.
By November of 2007 the Thumbelina Children’s Tour will make stops in all 48 continental states to brighten the day of children and staff at over 100 hospitals, special camps and schools, group children's homes , shelters as well as the children and families of American soldiers.
Every day, thousands of people fall in love with Thumbelina and every day she gets one step closer to fulfilling her mission to raise $1 million for children’s charities on her tour.
