The Woodlands Mall Announces Performers
For Free Weekend Entertainment In July
Local musician and band to kick-off July series with a patriotic feeling

THE WOODLANDS, Texas. June 14, 2005 – For its July "Take the Feeling With You" entertainment series, The Woodlands Mall presents a lineup of performers to entertain every age guest, from those who tap to a patriotic beat to the muggles and wizards among us who relish the magic and circus acts of family entertainers.

The free weekend entertainment series, which kicked-off in June, features two hours of entertainment every Friday and Saturday evening. Events are held outdoors in the new retail and restaurant courtyard from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

The July "Take the Feeling with You" series will feature:

Patriotic:            
Friday, July 1 – Patriotic Pops Quartet, led by The Woodlands resident Darryl Bayer of the Texas Brass and the funky Cadillac Brass, performs special music in celebration of the fourth of July.

Saturday, July 2 – Kit Reid's own Texas Dixie Kings play music with patriotic style. For years known as the Astroworld band, the Astros' team band and the Rockets' band, the band delivers a good toe-tappin' time with some of the best old-style

Americana jazz. They will be on stage and strolling through the audience.

International:            
Friday, July 8 – Moodafaruka, led by the inspired Rom Ryan, presents a magical experience with a fusion of global Mediterranean jazz. The band's energy and creativity is infectious. Come early, as Moodafaruka has a large and devoted following.            

Saturday, July 9 – The Churn – Irish Rock combines a range of Southern rock styles with Irish, Scottish and American traditional music.

Magic and fun:            
Friday, July 15 – Roly, the one-man show, entertains with his comic juggling, unicycling and various other extra-special circus routines.

Saturday, July 16 – Brettman, a consummate variety performer, amuses with magic tricks, balloons, unicycling, juggling and more. Lots of laughs for the whole family..

Swing:            
Friday, July 22 – The Blue Monks with Vince Hargrove bring swingin' sounds to the plaza with cool jazz and swing standards. Young adults and those who heard the sounds back when enjoy the band's renditions of favorites with a few modern surprises..

Saturday, July 23 – Swingtime, lead by prolific and respected bandleader Kit Reid, strolls throughout the courtyard filling the air with classic swing sounds.

Tropical:            
Friday, July 29 – Irie Time delivers the upbeat, feel-good sounds of the Caribbean for concert guests. The group mixes its internationally acclaimed reggae sounds with infectious "Hot Hot Hot" soca rhythms and ska.

Saturday, July 30 – Jaime Casco & Toque Rojo is a tropical Latin jazz trio featuring Jamie Casco, one of the few performing artists in America who specializes in the unique sound of Roland Midi Brass Pedals.

Performances are held from 7:00 to 9:00 p..m. each Friday and Saturday. Some performers may stroll or offer sets inside the mall. In case of inclement weather, the performances will be held inside The Woodlands Mall in Future Court. The final event in the series will be Saturday, October 1.
