The Pavilion Partners celebrates Blast From The Past With Pre-concert Fund-raiser

Earth, Wind & Fire and Chicago fans celebrate with a "GROOVY"
pre-concert dinner and auction

The Woodlands, TX – The Pavilion Partners, the official volunteer organization of The Center for the Performing Arts at The Woodlands, home of The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, hosts a "funky" pre-concert fund-raiser prior to the Aug. 21 Earth, Wind & Fire and Chicago concert. Reminisce about days gone by with friends at this fabulous flashback event. The fund-raiser is from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. in The Pavilion’s Event Tent. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets to the event are $200 each and include a savory steak dinner before the show, covered reserved seating for the concert, and VIP parking. Tickets for the dinner only (without concert and parking) are available for $95. Also available are tables for 10 that are $2000 and include signage, five VIP parking tickets, steak dinner for 10, and 10 VIP concert tickets. Numerous exclusive items are auctioned during the celebration, including a backstage Meet & Greet with the bands, sports and concert memorabilia, and travel and theater packages. Proceeds from the fund-raiser benefit the educational outreach programs of The Center, a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization. These educational programs include Fine Arts Education Day, Musical Scores, Children’s Festival and more.

Earth, Wind & Fire was one of the most popular and musically accomplished funk bands of the 1970s. The band incorporated several styles of music to create a unique sound, including jazz, gospel, African music, blues, folk, and disco. Earth, Wind & Fire is known for such funky hits as “September,” “Boogie Wonderland,” and “That’s the Way of the World.”

Chicago began their journey in the 1960s, moonlighting in clubs in Chicago and playing everything from R&B to Irish music. After a rocky beginning, including name and band member changes, Chicago now fills concert venues with satisfied fans. Chicago faithfuls rock to songs like “25 or 6 to 4,” “Saturday in the Park,” “Colour My World,” and “Hard Habit to Break.”

Each band brings its own unique sound to The Pavilion stage and presents a memorable performance that thrills new fans and faithful followers alike. Don’t miss this incredible, fun-filled evening that only The Pavilion Partners can offer.

The Pavilion Partners, launched in 1998, is an important part of The Center and its many educational programs. Partners supports The Center through fund-raising for the performing arts and educational outreach programs, as well as awarding fine arts scholarships each spring. The Pavilion Partners also administers the yearlong Symphony Docent Program and provides event volunteers for performances and programs at The Pavilion throughout the year.
