THE WOODLANDS, TX – (June 26, 2008) – Odom Woodlands Hotel L.L.C., a project of the Scott T. Odom Land Development Company, plans to break ground this summer for a 91-room Candlewood Suites extended-stay hotel in The Woodlands, according to Greg Jordan, director of commercial sales for The Woodlands Development Company.

Odom purchased a 2-acre site from The Woodlands Development Company for construction of the hotel. The site is located near the northwest corner of I-45 and St. Luke’s Way, directly across from St. Luke’s Community Medical Center-The Woodlands. “The mid-priced, extended-stay hotel will target corporate travelers, sales representatives, short-term employees as well as patients and visitors at St. Luke’s,” said Scott T. Odom, DDS, developer. “This is a good fit for the area because nothing like it exists in this area of The Woodlands.”

The Candlewood Suites brand features studio and one-bedroom suites with fully equipped kitchens, executive desks and flat screen TVs. The Candlewood Cupboard® for snacks, a fitness center and complimentary guest laundry are open 24 hours a day. 

Candlewood Suites, a brand owned by InterContinental Hotels Group, operates 134 extended-stay hotels in the U.S. with 14,661 rooms. The brand is one of the fastest-growing, extended-stay hotels in the nation with 147 hotels and 13,212 rooms in development.
