MARKET STREET AND THE MONTGOMERY COUNTY HISPANIC CHAMBER OF COMMERCE CELEBRATE CINCO DE MAYO WITH A FIESTA

 

THE WOODLANDS, TX (March 22, 2006)…All señ o res and senoritas are invited to join Market Street and the Montgomery County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce this Cinco de Mayo (May 5) for a fun-tastic Fiesta from 5 – 9 pm at Market Street’s Central Park.

The Fiesta will include great food and margaritas as well as entertaining activities for children, Latin music, flamenco dancers, and mariachi bands.

Crossing Borders will perform during the celebration. The local dance troupe is dedic ated to helping expand student's horizons by opening up their world through a greater understanding of Latin language, dance and culture.

Cinco de Mayo commemorates a battle fought by Mexican armies in 1862 against the French and traitor Mexican armies. Today Cinco de Mayo is a celebration of freedom and liberty.

Visitors are also invited to start the celebration a day early at the Jazz Beat at Market Street concert Thursday, May 4 from 6:30 – 9:30 pm in Central Park. The night’s performer, Maria Williams, will play music with a Latin flair.

Located across the street from The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, Market Street is bounded by Lake Woodlands Drive, Lake Robbins Drive, Grogan’s Mill Road and Six Pines Drive.
