The Pavilion Premiers First-Ever Holiday Symphony Concert Dec. 7

Ring in the holiday with a heartwarming celebration that features the sounds of the season in The Pavilion's magically transformed Winter Wonderland! The Houston Symphony performs a new holiday concert, Holly Jolly Pops, Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m. The evening's musical holiday merriment is a FREE event thanks to the generous support of Macy's, St. Luke's Community Medical Center – The Woodlands and Woodforest National Bank. The event also is sponsored in part by Fidelity Investments. Gates open at 6:00 p.m. All seating is general admission.

Rapidly developing a reputation as an energetic and imaginative young conductor, the delightful Rebecca Miller leads the Houston Symphony in some well-known holiday classics and popular carols. The evening also features Mozart's “Musical Sleigh Ride,” a sing-a-long, "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and more!

The evening also features Bassist Kevin Deas. Deas gained international acclaim as one of America's leading basses. He is celebrated for his riveting portrayal of the title role in Porgy and Bess which he performed with New York Philharmonic, National Symphony, the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra, San Francisco, Atlanta, San Diego, Houston and Montreal symphonies and at the Ravinia and Sarratoga festivals.

Bring the entire family to celebrate the holidays as only the Houston Symphony and The Pavilion can do. Pre-concert activities for children begin at 6:00 p.m. and include carolers from The Woodlands High School and Oak Ridge High School, as well as a guest appearance by the big man himself – Santa! Other costumed characters and children's activities add to the fun.

This is a free event and tickets are not required.

Preferred parking is available in the on-site Town Center Garage, located along Six Pines Drive. Parking is $5 per vehicle for this event. For more information about this and upcoming performances, call 281-364-3010 or visit www.woodlandscenter.org .
