SUPER BOWL EVENTS
TOUCH DOWN IN THE WOODLANDS

The Woodlands, TX - Nov. 19, 2003 - Super Bowl XXXVIII action which has set Houston abuzz, has expanded past the city boundaries and has touched down in the area's number one community, The Woodlands. Super Bowl golf tournaments, the NFL Alumni, CBS Broadcasting, and even NFL Charities are all huddling in The Woodlands. Gerald Irons, Director of Business Development for The Woodlands Operating Company, L.P., is serving as Chairman of The Woodlands Super Bowl Steering Committee. Irons, who is also an NFL alumnus, says since so many NFL-related groups have chosen The Woodlands for their activities, the community banded together to put on a show complementary to Houston's Super Bowl events during January 2004.

At a media conference here today, Frank Krauser, CEO of the NFL Alumni, Inc., said The Woodlands was an ideal venue for the varied activities his organization produces during Super Bowl Week. "The combination of golf, hospitality, shopping, entertainment, proximity to the airport, and the hometown spirit of the residents impressed our entire organization," he said. "The Woodlands and the NFLA make an excellent team."

Golf is king in The Woodlands and apparently to Super Bowl participants as well. At least three major golf events will take place on several of the six golf courses in The Woodlands. On Tuesday, January 27, the Equip Awards Gala and Celebrity Golf Classic will be played featuring celebrity athletes from professional football, baseball, and auto racing. On Friday, January 30, the NFL Alumni Active International Super Bowl of Golf Showcase presented by TaylorMade will be played with 350 golfers, including 72 current and former NFL greats.

That evening, the NFL Alumni, which represents more than 3,000 former pro football players, will hold its pairing party at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel.

On Saturday, January 31, the 19th annual Super Bowl NFL Charities Invitational Golf Classic will tee off at The Woodlands Resort. This celebrity-filled golf tourney is always one of the highlights of Super Bowl Week for players and celebrities. It is expected that many of the top celebs will also find their way to the number-one ranked private club and Jack Nicklaus Signature Course at Carlton Woods, The Woodlands' exclusive gated community.

The Player-of-the-Year annual awards dinner takes place at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel on Saturday night, January 31. This star-studded event is the coming together of former greats acknowledging the best of the NFL both on and off the field. Almost 1,000 active and inactive NFL players plus corporate sponsors and guests will attend.

On Super Bowl Sunday, several other plans are still being finalized. However, the Marriott's Waterway Convention Center will present "the area's biggest Tailgate and Watch party" in the 37,180 SF exhibit hall. Interactive football games, music, football buffet, and large screen TV's will be available for football fans who like to party while they watch the biggest annual sporting event on America's and the world's television screens. The family-oriented "Game Day" event will cap off one of the most exciting weeks in the history of area sports and certainly that of The Woodlands which co-incidentally calls itself "America's Hometown."
