Award-Winning Jasper’s Opens its Doors in The Woodlands and Hosts Charity Event Benefiting Parents Against Cancer

WHAT: Chef Kent Rathbun, executive chef and proprietor of both Abacus and Jasper’s in Dallas, hosts charity event celebrating the opening of Jasper’s newest location in The Woodlands, Texas. With proceeds benefiting Parents Against Cancer, the evening festivities include sampling Jasper’s award-winning Gourmet Backyard Cuisine and sipping on the infamous Big Daddy Martini and Mojitos!

WHO: Jasper’s Restaurant focuses on the best of America’s regional cuisine, catering to meet the needs of both the social and business guests. Located in Market Street, on the West side of Central Park, Jasper’s features a casual design with a “modern outdoors” theme. The 10,000 square foot interior incorporates stained concrete floors, teak outdoor-style furniture, bamboo planters, dramatic lighting and artistic interpretations of natural elements into the overall design scheme. Jasper’s is proud to receive “Four-Stars” from The Dallas Morning News, “One of the Best New Restaurants in America” by Esquire Magazine and Best Restaurant Design by Dallas Area Restaurateurs in D Magazine.

Executive chef and proprietor of Abacus in Dallas and Jasper’s, Kent Rathbun, has been nominated as the James Beard Foundation’s Best Chef of the Southwest for four consecutive years. He has also appeared on several national TV shows, including TV Food Network’s “Chef du Jour”, Cooking Live with Sara Moulton, the CBS Early Show, the Rosie O’Donnell Show and NBC’s Today Show. Rathbun has also been featured in Better Homes and Gardens, Rosie Magazine, Bon Appetit, Southern Living Magazine, Nation’s Restaurant News, Elle, Veranda Magazine, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and the Dallas Morning News. Rathbun also was one of the featured chefs for the Bush 2001 Inaugural Ball and has participated in the Pre-SuperBowl Event, “Taste of the NFL” for the past three years.
