Lighting of the Doves, Fireworks Kicks Off Holiday Season In Grand Style
THE WOODLANDS, Texas (October 21, 2004) . . . The largest seasonal outdoor ice skating rink in the southwest United States opens in The Woodlands on Thursday, November 18 when more than 250,000 lights magically greet Santa and welcome families as the holidays open in The Woodlands Town Center.
The Ice Rink At The Woodlands Town Center, November 18 – January 17, 2005
The Woodlands Ice Rink returns for its sixth season at the corner of Six Pines and Lake Robbins Drive. A covered tent structure over the rink resembles the tent at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion with a Winter Wonderland theme and giant DVD television screen for videos.
The cost is $9.50 for two hours of skate time. The price includes skate rentals.

The Woodlands Winter Wonderland - November 18 – January 2, 2005
The Woodlands Winter Wonderland features an array of storybook displays in a two-acre area surrounding The Ice Rink at the corner of Six Pines and Lake Robbins Drive. Follow the carpeted pathways and wander among a fantasyland of magical, lighted toy soldiers, elves, doves, musical angels and snowmen. The Woodlands Winter Wonderland is free and open daily. Lighting Of The Doves, November 18, 2004
The 22 nd Annual Lighting of the Doves has become a regional festival with food, music and entertainment. Doves are a theme to The Woodlands and The Woodlands Town Center. Eight giant doves hang from the Lake Robbins Bridge and there are more giant lighted doves at the site of The Ice Rink. The Woodlands Winter Wonderland is lit with more than 250,000 sparkling lights. How bright are 250,000 lights? They are bright enough to catch Santa’s attention as he arrives in the finest of style.
Fireworks, samplings from Town Center restaurants and entertainment by Woodlands residents round out the Lighting of the Doves ceremony.
