“MASKED MYSTERY TOUR” RAISES
FUNDS FOR NEW DANVILLE
THE WOODLANDS, TX – (October 23, 2006) – The “Masked Mystery Tour”, a “signature” wine tasting and dinner created by the Texas New Community Alliance (TNCA), developers of New Danville, was held on Sunday, October 15, 2006 at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar in The Woodlands, according to Kathy Sanders, president and founder of TNCA. The event honored Walter Cooke, Chairman of the Board of TNCA, and was chaired by Debra Sukin, CEO of St. Luke’s Woodlands Community Medical Center and her husband, Steve Sukin, M.D. The event was generously underwritten by Thomas and Joy Pisula, St. Luke’s Woodlands Community Medical Center, First National Bank, Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital and Orgain, Bell & Tucker, LLP.
Upon arrival, the 200 distinguished guests were greeted by masked and elegantly costumed dancers and served hors d’oeuvres and glasses of Pierre Sparr Marquis de Perlade. They were then escorted to their tables where a tasting of “masked” white wines was served. Then they dined on a magnificent filet mignon dinner, accompanied by “masked” red wine selections and a decadent chocolate dessert by Schakolad, accompanied by Rosa Regale dessert wine.
Ray Burgess was the auctioneer for a live auction featuring vacation getaways and premier wine packages. During the dinner and wine tasting, guests were asked to guess each wine vintage and its place of origin. The finale of the evening was the “revealing” of the masked wines by the winemakers and the awarding of prizes to the winners.
Among the guests who enjoyed the “Masked Mystery Tour” were Dr. Vincent Aquino and his wife, Yvette; Dr. Enrique and Laura Quintero; Dr. Bill Parks and his wife, Debbie; Dr. Lucian Rivela and his wife, Patty; Frank and Lisa Robinson; Bob and Kim Udell; Judy Larson and Eric Wojner; Michael and Vicki Richmond; and Rocky and Helen Del Papa.
The event was a fund raiser for the development of New Danville, Texas’ first master-planned community for mentally challenged adults. The concept for the community is unique from other private communities in that it will provide affordable housing and offer a holistic approach to services to enable mentally challenged adults to live independently. The community is being developed on a 42-acre site just north of Willis in Montgomery County by the Texas New Community Alliance (TNCA), a 501 © (3) charitable and educational organization.
In an effort to raise the funds to pay off the land and start construction of the Life Learning Center, the first building at New Danville, TNCA has also kicked off the New Danville House Raffle, offering a chance to win a $560,000 home by Design Tech in the golf course neighborhood of Grogan’s Point in The Woodlands. Tickets are $100 and are tax deductible. For more information about New Danville and to purchase tickets for the House Raffle, visit www.newdanville.org or call 936-522-7279.
