Come Out and Play with The Woodlands Children’s Museum

“Come Out and Play” is the message of the day when The Woodlands Children’s Museum presents Scott Cole and his Get Fit America for Kids on Friday, November 11 th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Market Street’s Central Park. Kids will learn elements of the fitness program that combines elements of yoga, tai chi and tae kwon do.

A need for creative play and fitness inspired Scott Cole to create the youth-oriented fitness program. “I developed the Get Fit America program to create much needed balance to the lives of children who are already experiencing a stressed life,” explains Cole. “I teach them that they need to move slowly in order to give way to moving fast,” he adds.

The influences of non-violent martial arts, nature-related games and partnered trust-building exercises introduce kids to flexibility, strength and physical discipline. Self-esteem, responsibility and awareness are additional benefits of the program.

“Come Out and Play” will encourage children of all ages to come out to Market Street’s Central Park to learn the techniques of the Get Fit program. Cole and The Woodlands Children’s Museum have partnered together to promote this event by closing the museum’s Market Street facility for the day to offer interactive, educational activities in Market Street’s Central Park.

Cole is a former National Aerobic Champion and star of the Abs of Steel and Discover Tai Chi series. He was named one of the Top 5 Fitness Instructors in the world by IDEA: The Association of Fitness Professionals. He also has appeared as a guest on The View, CNN Headline News, The Early Show, LIVE with Regis and Kelly and more.

The Woodlands Children’s Museum is located at Market Street near the intersection of Lake Robbins and Six Pines Pines Drives. The museum’s exhibits engage parents and children in interactive, hands-on play and exploration. For more information call the museum at 281.465.0955 or visit the museum’s web site at www.woodlandschildrensmuseum.org.
