Half off reserved tickets to “Peter and the Wolf” for Katrina Evacuees

The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion

2005 Lake Robbins Drive, The Woodlands

Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005

Hurricane Katrina evacuees will receive 50 percent off reserved ticket for the Houston Symphony’s performance of Sergei Prokofiev’s classic tale of “Peter and the Wolf” on Thursday, Sept. 1. Evacuees can purchase tickets online or in person at The Pavilion’s Ticket Office. Just show your Louisiana, Mississippi or Alabama drivers license or use the online code of “tmdeal.”

The Symphony is directed by the energetic John Morris Russell, and the tale of “Peter and the Wolf” is narrated by The Pavilion’s own D’Artagnan Bebel. The story takes place in Russia more than 100 years ago, in a meadow behind Peter’s grandfather’s house. Peter’s grandfather has warned him not to play in the meadow because of the dangers that lurk in the forest. Peter, along with a bird, a cat and a duck, are able to catch a wolf that had crept out of the forest that morning. Peter hands over this captured wolf to some hunters, and all the characters of the story take the wolf to the zoo.

This Time Warner Cable Family Concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. Free pre-concert activities for the family take place from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. Reserved tickets are $20 and $15 for covered reserved seating and $10 for uncovered reserved.
